Obhoyaronno

or somewhat easier to pronounce - the Bangladesh Animal Welfare Society

They are primarily focused on education and dog sterilisation since street dogs are everywhere in Bangladesh (and often infected with rabies, but on Saturdays they neuter dogs and cats for private individuals. They are slowly gaining supporters in Dhaka, and now people know that it is a safe place for injured or abandoned animals as well.

Today we braved the traffic (turned out OK) and went into an unknown part of Dhaka (for us and the driver). When we went to Burkina Faso we took along a basic cat pharmacy - antibiotics, mite and flea treatments etc, as well as lots of vitamins and treats, and thought it would be better to donate these to a place where could be useful.

it's quite a basic environment, but if I needed a dog spayed or neutered it would be my first choice since they carry out so many operations they are very skilled.
Not many clients in today!
