Voodoo festival

Just as we didn't have  anything planned a man asked us if we wanted to come to a voodoo festival.
Why not?

We arrived at the site; a big sandpit with a podium for the officials. We were offered a place there, but declined as it was in the sun. Later it turned out that it was actually a podium that needed to be used by the performers. In any case there were hardly any officials or tourists.

There were a few stalls with merchandise, but I doubt if any business was actually done that day.
The two stalls that did have costumers were Obama beach buvette and the other food stall.

It started (like everything) with some singing and dancing.

Then came the 'walking haystacks' they moved around, turning a lot while doing it and there were always man directing them or more like trying to tame them, not quite sure which.

We non-believers think there is a little man in there that will be very hot and tired at the end of the day.

However they showed us there is nobody in there.

There were several of these things come and going.

See, empty

This one had just a statue inside
This one produced a plant
This one produced crabs

And with some leaves, powder and magic you can create money

Not sure what this one was trying to do climbing on another one
Then there were more performances

The main attraction for us was the public
