Bhutan - Paro and the Tiger's nest

We segregated the duties.

Lon went up the hill to see the tigers nest (Taktsang Lhakang Monastery) , while Hazel studied the purchase possibilities.

The goal of the climb: the tigersnest.
Centuries ago someone flew here on a tiger to battle with a demon for three months non-stop.
Now there are monks looking after the building, meditating and chanting etc.

It was a hard climb. Lovely to say the prayer flags everywhere.
But... to be honest Bhutan has so much to see it might be time and energy better spent to go to another temple. However you need to do it, so you can brag about how quickly you went up and down again. Before you ask, the answer is: faster than you.

In the evening we visited a farmhouse. A small tour through the house and on to the attic.

After that a hot-stone bath with leaves in it, nice, but not sure about the healing properties. Hot stones were dropped into an area at the end of the bath which is segregated by wood - heating the water long after they are placed in.

Before dinner we are offered butter-tea; barf.
And hot rice wine, with an egg in it not so good, but at least alcoholic.

View from the hotel with a well deserved beer. Life is hard.
