Yesterday we went to Ruhengeri (now known as Museze) to visit a pyrethrum processing factory.



The flowers are dried

and processed

distilled, concentrated and further concentrated to extract an insecticide harmless for humans which is suitable for use in organic farming. The product is exported. Only 3 countries in the world are suitable for this agricultural production : Rwanda, Kenya and New Zealand.
