pre- boarding, back to Barisal

a quick mention of our wonderful cook for the weekend, producing delicious meals in basic circumstances

After the boat race and awards ceremony we returned to our lodgings to clean up and return to Barisal.

On the way we came face to face with hundreds of buses overloaded ferrying pilgrims away from Charmonai. Once again we were happy to be in the competent hands of Hassan our driver.

We were early in Barisal, and the boat was late, so we walked in a local park, and along the river bank. It was apparently the time to walk along the river bank, very much in the southern European style.  Groups of young men eyeing up young women and vice versa, couples, families all were strolling along enjoying the early evening and a snack.

The river side continued in the way that riversides do here...people were bathing, people were working, and people when they dared were asking us YOUR COUNTRY???

Waiting for the Rocket launch we watched life at the ferry port, and life looked back at us.
