Orphanage visit

A slightly belated post. At the beginning of this month a friends visiting son brought lots of clothes and toys etc. to give away, some ladies added whatever they found and bought some food items. All in all we had an impresive pile suitable to feed an orphanage, so that is where we went.

Our swedish had friends visited this orphanage before and we followed them there, some 35 k's from Ouaga, a rather big orphanage of over 100 kids run by nuns. They take in kids from 0-12, after that they go to foster families. They are trying to be as self-reliant as possible, which means there are chicken, rabbits, a few cows, a vegetable garden, their own waterwell and most importantly a school.

The children varied from scared to surprised and cute. I played football with a couple, one kid held our hands. Our friend did a puppet show for them, something they never saw before. Kermit the frog did not get a very big welcome.

The old man was a hit, but it was cruel of us to put him in a bag afterwards: how does he breathe?

Why the tear litle fellow?

How to take care of your little brother.

Is it a man? It talks, so it must be.

It was a tiring day
